How often should a founder post on LinkedIn?
The short answer
As often as you can keep up for months, not weeks. Consistency compounds: each post reaches some new people, and the ones who see you every week start to remember you. A schedule you drop after a month does less than a smaller one you keep. For our clients, posts go live daily: 28 a month.
Why consistency beats volume
- Trust builds by repetition. Buyers rarely act on the first post they see. They act after they've seen you be useful many times.
- You get data. More posts means you learn faster which topics and formats work for your audience.
- Stopping costs more than you think. Most founders who post themselves stop within weeks once work gets busy, and the momentum goes with it.
Picking a number you'll keep
- Writing it yourself: pick a weekly number you could hit in your busiest month, and protect the time for it.
- With help: posting daily becomes realistic, because your job shrinks to sharing raw material and approving drafts. For our clients that's 1 to 2 hours a week.
What matters as much as frequency
Posting often doesn't help if the posts don't lead anywhere. Mix in posts that give readers a reason to raise their hand. Ours is 8 lead magnet posts for every 20 authority posts. And don't judge a week: judge a quarter.
If you'd rather not write every post yourself, start with what a LinkedIn ghostwriter actually does.
