How long does it take to get leads from LinkedIn?
The short answer
In our work, expect early movement in 2 to 4 weeks and real compounding around month three, as long as you post consistently and give readers a way to become leads. One client went from 800 followers to 4,000 and 40 qualified leads in 90 days. That's two client accounts, not a guarantee.
What the first 90 days look like
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Voice capture: we read everything you've published, listen to how you talk and agree on who we're writing for. |
| Weeks 1–2 | Systems setup: DM automation, profile rewrite and landing pages. |
| Weeks 2–4 | Posts go live daily. Expect the first movement here: comments from the right people and the first resource requests. |
| Months 2–3 | Compounding: more reach from people outside your network, a growing email list and inbound conversations. |
| Every month | We check what worked, double down on winners and cut what didn't. |
What speeds it up
- Posting every weekday. Consistency does more than any single great post.
- A lead capture mechanism from day one. Without it, even good reach produces no leads.
- Your raw material. Stories, client questions, opinions. A voice note between meetings is enough.
- A specific audience. Posts written for one kind of buyer travel further with that buyer.
What slows it down
- Stopping and starting. Every gap resets some momentum.
- Posting about everything. A broad audience rarely turns into buyers.
- Measuring followers instead of conversations, then quitting before month three.
Where you start matters
Wallace started from 800 followers, so most of his growth was new reach: 96% of his impressions went to people outside his network. Kevin already had 13,694 followers, so the job was converting an existing audience, and his newsletter subscribers grew 89% in the same 90 days. Both numbers are on the case studies page.
How those leads get created is covered in turning LinkedIn posts into booked calls.
