How do you choose a LinkedIn ghostwriter?
The short answer
Ask to see live client profiles, ask what they measure, get the full scope in writing and ask how they'll capture your voice. Walk away from follower guarantees, examples you can't verify, and reporting that stops at likes.
Questions to ask
- Can I see live profiles of people you write for? Screenshots can be cherry-picked. A live profile shows every post, good and bad.
- What do you measure? Look for leads, conversations and booked calls, not only impressions and followers.
- What exactly is included each month? Number of posts, visuals, lead magnets, landing pages, email, DMs, profile work.
- How will you capture my voice? You want a real process: reading your past writing, interviewing you, regular input.
- Who approves posts before they go out? It should be you, every time.
- How much of my time will this take? An honest answer is an hour or two a week. Zero means the posts won't sound like you.
- What happens when someone engages? If the answer is "nothing", you're buying posts, not pipeline.
Red flags
- Guaranteed follower counts. Growth depends on your niche, your input and your audience. A guarantee means they're guessing or buying followers.
- No examples you can check. If they can't point to a real person's profile, assume the results aren't real.
- Reports that stop at likes. Engagement matters, but it isn't revenue.
- No say over what's posted. You should approve every post.
- A price that won't be broken down. You should know what you're paying for.
How we answer these
Two clients' profiles are linked on the case studies page. We track lead data, not just engagement, and refine the content around it every month. We don't guarantee follower counts, and you approve every post. How we work is on our LinkedIn ghostwriting page.
